NZ Masters Games 2016 - 30th Jan 2016 to 7th Feb 2016

NZ Masters Games 2016 The NZ Masters Games are being held in Dunedin from January 30 - February 7, 2016. This is a great opportunity to get involved in a large array of sporting codes and either participate or compete in your own age group. Whether you are into netball, tennis, touch, rugby, bowls, golf or even swimming the Masters Games has it covered.

BUT!!  There is nothing more frustrating than training for an event such as the NZ Masters Games and having an injury prevent you from participating. You are going along really well and then for no apparent reason you start to get niggles which then lead to more pain and eventually you have to pull out. For this reason it is important to train adequately for your event.

Sometimes you may be competing in a sport that you used to play (back in the day) - your mind remembers really well how to play it, but your body seems to have a different view!

A much too common sight at the physio clinic in the weeks leading up to the NZ Masters Games, is the broken down Masters athlete.

Roslyn Physio offers Muscle Balance Assessments which involve a series of simple tests designed to identify potential injuries before they happen. A physiotherapist can then help determine what simple exercises would be beneficial during your training to ensure you can compete at your best. This takes the unknown out of the equation. not only can these assessments help you train better for the NZ Masters Games, they can also help you with normal day-to-day aches and pains.

Roslyn Physio also stock a wide range of tapes and braces should you need them during the NZ Masters Games.

Visit the NZ Masters website for event and registration information. The staff at Roslyn Physio wish you good luck with your event.
