Dry Needling @ Roslyn Physio - 19th Jan 2016

Dry needling @ Roslyn Physio

Brett has recently attended 2 advanced courses in Sydney to further his knowledge around Dry Needling. He spent a week in Sydney learning to apply dry needling to muscle groups which are harder to access and require dry needling experience.

Brett has been using Dry needling within the clinic for 7 years now and Natalie is also trained in the technique. Although it is an invasive technique it is very helpful in reducing pain in a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.

For further information about Dry Needling and whether it is for you visit our Dry Needling Page. Come and experience it, you may find that it is just what you need to relieve that ongoing muscular pain.

New Taping Videos

We are compiling a selection of taping videos that demonstrate simple taping techniques. This week Steve Griffin demonstrates a shoulder taping and a thumb taping.

Shoulder Taping

This video demonstrates an easy and effective way of providing some support to an unstable shoulder. The technique incorporates a simple shoulder taping along with further taping support for the overhead athlete. Remember that all taping supplies are available at Roslyn Physio.

Thumb Taping

This video demonstrates a simple taping for the thumb. Thumb sprains are a very common hand injury and can be very debilitating. This taping technique is effective in stabilising the thumb to allow a return to activity or sport while reducing the chances of re-injury or aggravation. Remember that all taping supplies are available at Roslyn Physio.

Otago Community Hospice Golf Tournament 2015 - 2nd Nov 2015

The Otago Community Hospice golf tournament was played at St Clair golf club last Friday. Roslyn Physio always entered as a team into this competition as it is such a fantastic cause. This year the weather held out for most of the day but the wind was a little bracing to say the best. Although the Roslyn Physio team did not pull through with any startling results, there was a significant amount of money raised for the Otago Community Hospice. Auction items included a 2015 Rugby World Cup jersey signed by the entire 31 man squad, this went for $6300. At the end of the night there was well over $20,000 raised which is an outstanding effort.

We look forward to next year's event.
